It seems like a bunch of crap to be honest. From what I read, others from Notre Dame prep who took the same classes have not been ruled this way but the ones coming out now are. How does that work?

This is true....8 players were deemed eligible by the NCAA for the 2011-2012 season. (They were a year above Davis/Cassell Jr. taking the same classes.)

And yes, it is a bunch of crap.

IMS had informed that the NCAA has officially denied the Terps appeal.

Their appeal in regards to Wells or an appeal about Cassell?

This whole thing sucks.

Cassell wanted to be a Terp, was enrolled and taking classes, and now it's not going to happen. I wish him well wherever he ends up ... he can't be a Terp unless he transfers to a JUCO for a couple years, and I don't see that happening. I presume he'll end up at an A-10 school of some sort. Best of luck to him.

The only positive in this situation is that it gives the Terps another scholarship to play with ... which means the uber-awesome class of Dodd, Harrison, Harrison and Peters is still a possibility.

Cassell Jr. is attending Chipola Community College in Florida.
