He is.

Kremer will presumably be heading to AA so it’ll be interesting to see if they bump anyone up to AAA or move to a 6 man rotation.

Yeaaaahh that's tough. Lowther, Kremer and Wells really haven't had enough AA time yet, Kremer with the most at like 50 innings ish. Harvey would have been a good candidate but he's getting hit too hard right now. I don't think it's being wild overall, his walks to K's is decent. He's still hovering around a 10 k/ip, so that's not terrible (although he's been near 15 before). It's either his command is still slightly off and that just missing is leading to hard hit balls, and a lot of HR, OR velocity is an issue. Because the other peripherals are ok, I'm going to guess it's just one pitch that's not working right now, since he's still getting strikeouts, and not walking everyone. If it were velocity it'd be down on all his pitches and he wouldn't be getting any swings and misses in theory. I dunno. Probably just a case of working some stuff out, really hate to even think still potentially injured, although depending on the injury it could be just minor enough to affect one or two certain pitches. (For instance, damaged labrum, velo drop generally, but if it's a partial tear there could still be an arm slot that isn't affected. If he found it and threw out of it, he may not be able to throw some pitches well but others he could, completely speculating based on personal experience though)

You mean K/9.  And unless you're counting the first 18 innings of his career way back in 2013, he's never been near 15 K/9 before, that's not a rate anyone actually reaches (13.4 is the best season ever in MLB).

His slash line is quite good and quite consistent, when he's managed to get on the mound.  With the exception of the Bundy-like HR/9 rate this year, which has never been a problem for him before.  He's given up 9 HR in 30 IP this year.  He only gave up 8 in the ~190 IP of his career prior.

Yep totally did. Was looking at individual stops in parts of seasons and lazily grouping them together. Lots of numbers above 10, a couple up at 18, but just a couple innings here or there. Career he's just short of 11 though, so you got my point, he's missed bats in his career, and still is right now, it's not like he's getting batted around and isn't striking anyone out, so that means he's got SOME pitch working still or he wouldn't be able to put guys away. Weather that's an out pitch, or an overpowering FB or what, that's what gets lost looking at the stats, but it makes it just as confusing WHY he's getting hit so hard and giving up HR so much like you said.

It's hard to say at AA cause you have guys that can hit FB as well as guys that are starting to hit secondaries well so could be either. Kinda hope I get to see him one of the games I go this season.

Anyone know who is pitching there Friday?

You could also move Zimmerman to AAA, since he saw a lot of AA time last year as well. He’s off to a good start this year.

A rotation in AA of HH, Wells, Knight, Kremer and Lowther by July should be the case (assuming health and performance)

If Kremer pitches well in AA in 5-6 starts I'd be looking to move him to AAA as well.  Get him a half season at Norfolk and be ready to come up to the big club sometime in the first half of next year.

Tyler Herb is currently the 5th starter for Norfolk (pitched yesterday at least). Obviously just a placeholder that can bounce around where needed but just thought I would note that for the current record.

I added notable relievers to each team's depth chart. Let me know if I'm missing someone you'd like to keep track of.

This thread is an awesome place to get a snapshot of the whole minor league teams. I'd like it twice if I could Bob. Thanks for keeping this up to date. Really convenient and a great addition for the site.

Interesting note that speaks to what the front office is doing, Delmarva broke the South Atlantic League record for strikeouts by a team.
