Is that a step up? I know it was a "time for a change" move between him and Marquette (hence going to VT) but this seems to be more of the same.

Agreed. I would rather stay in the ACC but A&M has a lot of money.

GW hired Jamion Christian today from Siena. He was in Albany for a year after having some success at Mount St. Mary's, where he took the Mountaineers to 2 NCAA's in six seasons.

Tim Miles sucks at life. What a jackass.

Rumors about Turgeon and Nebraska. We will see.

I've wondered for a couple years how he was keeping his job.  He's like the poor man's Turgeon.  Recruits good talent but usually underachieves.  I suppose the bar at Nebraska is pretty low, though.  Will be interesting to see who they can get there.  Recent hires within the conference have been real good, though those were probably all better jobs (certainly in two obvious cases).

Can't tell if you're serious or not, but Twitter is abuzz about how great of a human being he is.

Hoiberg seems like a lock there.

Ohh I was serious, but that's the danger of forming strong opinions on people with limited information.  I've seen him on the sidelines, and interviews the last few years and he consistently came across as extremely unlikable. Good to hear there was more to him. And a reminder for me.

interesting. yea, he's getting a lot of love right now, seems more than the typical "post firing" stuff too. Here's just a few samplings:

Nebraska has dismissed Tim Miles. Not a surprise, but still disappointing. Tim has been a delight in his time in the Big Ten. It is expected the Huskers will zero in on former Iowa State/Chicago Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg.

Nebraska has finally put Tim Miles out of his limbo-induced misery. Didn't deserve the treatment he got on the way out.

The video of Miles slipping and falling at the B10 tourney and his subsequent reaction was great.

B1G gets tougher with Hoiberg. MD needs to upgrade.

I heard Seth Greenberg talking today that Nebraska is a good job. They have good facilities , backing from the school, good attendance at games, etc...Hoiberg could be huge for that program.

I honestly didn’t realize all of that about that program...could be somewhat of a sleeping giant.

They've never won a game in the NCAA Tournament.

Yea..I would never think of them as a basketball school but apparently there is a good foundation for them.

They have things going for them (as you mentioned Rob)... but they also have zero recruiting base. You have to bring everyone there, and it's not exactly a destination.  Doesn't mean they can't figure out a way though.  Football did for years.
