I'm going to go back through the drafts of this decade and re-draft them at least through the lottery. I will consider team situation somewhat, especially more recently, but I'm mostly not going to delve too deep into team needs in a given year, so BPA will generally win out.

Anyways, starting with 2010...

Pick #  Team  New selection  (# that player was selected)                                 Actual selection

1. Washington: Paul George (10)                                                                           John Wall

2. Philadelphia: John Wall (1)                                                                                Evan Turner

3. New Jersey: Demarcus Cousins (5)                                                                 Derrick Favors

4. Minnesota: Gordon Hawyard (9)                                                                     Wesley Johnson

5. Sacramentio: Eric Bledsoe (18)                                                                     Demarcus Cousins

6. Golden State: Greg Monroe (7)                                                                            Ekpe Udoh

7. Detroit: Derrick Favors (3)                                                                                  Greg Monroe

8. LAC: Hassam Whiteside (33)                                                                           Al-Farouq Aminu

9.  Utah: Al-Farouq Aminu (8)                                                                              Gordon Hayward

10. Indiana: Pattrick Patterson (14)                                                                          Paul George

11. New Orleans: Avery Bradley (19)                                                                        Cole Aldrich

12. Memphis: Lance Stephenson (40)                                                                      Xavier Henry

13. Toronto: Larry Sanders (15)                                                                                  Ed Davis

Biggest Busts:

Evan Turner (2)

Wesley Johnson (4)

Ekpe Udoh (6)

Pretty weak draft.

I accidently posted the thread well before finishing the post.

I have those two in reverse order, mostly because all the issues surrounding Cousins, plus now the achilles. Not that Wall has been perfect in terms of attitude or health either, but Boogie has about the worst reputation in the NBA and now is coming off one of the very worst injuries you can have, even though he looks pretty good right now.

Sure, in terms of having them right now, but Whiteside did nothing his first 4 years, and wasn't even in the league for a stretch, so that has to be held against him.

The 2011 is an interesting one. Ended up being a pretty strong draft but so many of the top 20 guys sucked too.

2012 - actual picks in ( )

1. New Orleans: Anthony Davis (1)  (Anthony Davis)

2. Charlotte: Damian Lillard (6)  (Michael Kidd-Gilchrist)

3. Washington: Draymond Green (35) (Bradley Beal)

4. Cleveland: Andre Drummond  (Dion Waiters)

5. Sacramento: Bradley Beal (3)  (Thomas Robinson)

6. Portland: Khris Middleton  (39)  (Damian Lillard)

7. Golden State: Harrison Barnes (7)  (Harrison Barnes)

8. Toronto: Terrence Ross (8)  (Terrence Ross)

9. Detroit: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (2)  (Andre Drummond)

10. New Orleans: Evan Fournier (20)  (Austin Rivers)

11. Portland: Will Barton (40)(Meyers Leonard)

12. Houston:  Jeremy Lamb (12)  (Jeremy Lamb)

13. Phoenix:   Maurice Harkless (15)  (Kendall Marshall)

There were three 2nd Round picks who I think should have gone in the lottery. Darymond #35 overall (oops). Portland still ended up with Will Barton in the actual draft, just way later than they should have taken him. Biggest busts were definitely Robinson, Waiters and Marshall.

I'm sure I've overlooked someone. The talent in this draft dropped off fast. The Rockets had the most interesting draft with three 1st Round picks. Lamb ended up being a big part of the return they sent OKC for Harden (LOL @ OKC). They also picked Royce White 16th, who played only 3 games in the NBA (for Sacramento). Then they took Terrance Jones 18th, who had a couple decent seasons but is no longer in the league. But what they got for the Lamb pick I'm sure leaves them with few regrets.

One player that was drafted is now deceased (Fab Melo, taken 22nd by Boston).

Kyrie vs Klay is an interesting decision

Seems like a relatively easy call for Klay imo.

Kyrie is a great 1x1 offensive player.  Very creative.

Klay's one of the greatest shooters ever, and a far better defensive player.

Klay's also been willing to be part of a team.... Kyrie had to leave Cleveland, and while injured saw his Celtics reach the ECF last year.... but has seemingly wanted a very deep Boston team to know they need to defer to him.

13. Dallas: Alex Len (5)                                                                                              Kelly Olynyk

Biggest Busts:

Anthony Bennett (1)

Ben McLemore (7)

Alex Len (5)

Cody Zeller (4)

This draft obviously has someone who looks like he's on his way to being an all-time great, then another great player in Gobert, but after that, the only other all-star level player is Oladipo, who took a lot of time to get to that point, and now has a serious injury that isn't easy to recover from.

This is also an odd draft in that no one from the second round made an appearance in this re-draft, even though a few guys enter the discussion late in this lottery, but that's more because of how bad the latter half of this lottery re-draft is than because of how good guys like Allen Crabbe and Mike Muscala are.

It depends on what you want / need from a player.

Kyrie can be a very good #1 option on offense for a team, he also won a title and contended for others as the #2 option on offense with another ball dominant player. So he can do both of those things quite well.

Klay has now won several titles, but he cannot be the #1 guy for you on offense and he doesn't create for others with the ball (he does help others create for themselves just by being on the court though). You ideally should have at least two guys to handle the ball and create to go along with Klay.

In my re-draft, this was a decision for Minnesota to make, so with that in mind, Kyrie and Love make more sense than Klay and Love IMO, unless there is another good creator in the mix with the latter duo. However, you could argue for Klay to help on the defensive side of the ball, which is fair.

2014

Pick #  Team  New selection  (# that player was selected)                                       Actual selection

1. Cleveland:  Nikola Jokic (41)                                                                                  Andrew Wiggins

2. Milwaukee: Joel Embiid (3)                                                                                       Jabari Parker

3. Philadephia: Clint Capela (25)                                                                                   Joel Embiid

4. Orlando: Garry Harris (19)                                                                                        Aaron Gordon

5. Utah: Aaron Gordon (4)                                                                                              Dante Exum

6. Boston: Jusuf Nurkic (16)                                                                                         Marcus Smart

7. LAL: Julius Randle (7)                                                                                              Julius Randle

8. Sacramento: Zach LaVine (13)                                                                                    Nik Stauskas

9. Charlotte: Andrew Wiggins (1)                                                                                   Noah Vonleh

10. Philadelphia: Bogdan Bogdanovic (27)                                                                    Elfrid Payton

11. Denver: TJ Warren (14)                                                                                         Doug McDermott

12. Orlando: Elfrid Payton (10)                                                                                        Dario Saric

13. Minnesota: Jabri Parker (2)                                                                                      Zach Levine

Biggest Busts:

Parker (2)

Wiggins (1)

Exum (5)

Stauskas (8)

McDermott (11)

First off, the primary reason I have Jokic over Emiid is because if Cleveland were to have kept that pick, they would have needed the production the Joker provided in his first few years while Joel was mostly out. I think there is an argument for Jokic regardless of the team drafting him though, mostly due to durability, but also because Jokic is fantastic.

Besides those two guys, this draft was a disappointment with the busts at the top of the draft and really no especially good players taken in the lottery besides Embiid. Some great late value with Jokic obviously, but also Capela and even Bogdan, who has been good since coming over to the NBA.

I don't think Wiggins or Parker are busts and certainly shouldn't have that title as guys who actually have done little to next to nothing.

I think they are given where they were picked. Parker has pretty much been relegated to the bench this year after being given a chance and while Wiggins scores a decent amount, he's not good at all.

I think this would be like calling Wieters a bust.  If you are comfortable with calling him a bust, ok.  If you aren't, you can't say it here.

Parker's issues have been injuries.  But he is still only 23, shoots for pretty good percentages and has been a good scorer and rebounder.  He should be more and maybe still will be but I don't see BUST with him.

Stauskas has been with 5 teams and hasn't done much at all.  That's a bust even if he wasn't drafted top 3.

I don't think it's quite like Wieters for 2 reasons, one is just becoming a consistent starter in MLB is an achievement, even for high picks, which isn't really the case in basketball, and Matt was easily better than both Wiggins and Parker, especially the latter.

Parker has been pretty healthy this year and he still found his way to the bench. He's hard to play.

They still have time on their side though, so we'll see, I wouldn't be surprised if Wiggins becomes a solid to good NBA player.

Biggest Busts:

Jahlil Okafor (3)

Mario Hezonja (5)

If Porzingis completely recovers from his ACL injury, the top 4 guys here are pretty strong. It was hard to find guys to reward with the bottom few spots of the lottery, though.

Imagine how good Philly could have been if they drafted better.

Obviously the Lakers had legit reasons to deal Russell, but they can't be too happy with how that's turning out at this point.
