It was an exciting game, but a really ugly one too. I wouldn't feel too good about this one if I were either team, despite the in-state rivalry factor. Tate Martell might not want to get too comfy playing WR, because as atrocious as Miami's offensive line was tonight, hard to imagine Williams being able to make it through the whole season.

The Pac-12 is now 0-2 on the season, both losses against G5 teams. Very interested in seeing if Utah can stop the bleeding in Provo.

The Utes have won 9 in a row in that series, though most of those were closer than last night's game. A common theme in that winning streak is Utah scoring defensive TDs, and they got two last night; a scoop-n-score and Pick-6.

 

Utah showed they can definitely run the ball and control the clock, and their defense looks pretty stout. If they can get some semblance of a decent passing game (they were terrible on 3rd downs last night), and get their iffy kicking situation straight, maybe they could be a dark horse to get in the CFP. Their schedule looks pretty favorable, with the biggest hurdle right now being an early November trip to Seattle.
