Just amazing devastation.

Five of our contributors - Andy, Sid, Gabe, Bob, and Jason - are out there.  Let's keep them, and all of those who been impacted and had losses in our thoughts.

600+ people missing.

Incomprehensible.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

A lot of movie stars have lost their homes.  The set of Westworld has burned down.

Not that they are any more important than anyone else, just something I have heard them discussing.

In Deadspin's story about the Big Game being postponed (another notable effect of the fires), the writer made the point that, no, it's not anywhere close to important in the grand scheme of lives (literally and figuratively) lost, but that it helps bring even more attention to what is going on out in California to people that may not be watching the news particularly closely.
