I really don't think there is a team in sports that fits players into their system and the way of doing things as well as the Spurs.

Years from now when Pop goes into the Basketball HOF, people are going to take a long look at his record and rank him with the best coaches in sports.

Charles Barkley said last night that Kawhi Leonard was the best player in the league.

I wouldn't go that far, but he's definitely top 5 and he might be the best two way player.

I remember back to draft day. the Wizards took an athlete, named Jan Vesely and the Pacers (I think) about 10 picks later took a basketball player, named Leonard.  They then traded him to SA, and the Spurs have reaped the benefits since then.  Some teams just do it right and others don't.

And the player they sent to Indiana was George Hill, an okay-but-by-no-means-great PG the Spurs drafted at #26 three years earlier. It's one example that goes to show how out of character it was when they threw the big money at Aldridge in free agency. Aside from being great when it comes to getting a lot out of role players that other teams throw away, the Spurs have been pretty successful at primarily using the draft to build their teams, despite always picking near the very end (some guy named Duncan notwithstanding). That's right, it's all about the draft pickz!
