Since you can’t diagnose CTE until after death, it seems like a bit of a stretch to say that because a group of alive guys don’t have early dementia that they won’t have or develop CTE.
I do think it is less prevelant than we think. We’re made to believe it’s inevitable. I think it’s like cigarettes to cancer. If you don’t want to be at risk for lung cancer, you shouldn’t smoke. If you don’t want your brain to turn to mush, you shouldn’t bang it into other things.
You can smoke and live to be 90 and have a heart attack. You can have 15 concussions and live to 90 without suicidal/murderous tendencies. You could also get lung cancer or CTE at 40, or younger.
