Yesterday, Jon Heyman from CBS Sports tweeted that the O's could be on the verge of signing CoCo Crisp. Later last night Scott Swaim of MLBInsideNews tweeted that the Orioles and Braves are making progress on an Adam Jones trade, with Jair Jurrjens an expected piece coming back from Atlanta.

Seems pretty clear how these two moves could play together. My question is, could the O's decide to add Crisp, while not moving Jones?

If I'm Baltimore's Front Office, I'm certainly willing to listen to offers for Jones. It is going to take more than Jurrjens though. If that trade (or other) does not come to fruition, what would happen with a Crisp addition by itself?

As of today, the O's everyday lineup and bench looks something like:

Hardy SS
Markakis RF
Jones CF
Reynolds 1st / 3rd
Wieters C
Davis 3rd / 1st
Reimold LF
DH
Andino 2nd

Roberts, Teagarden, Antonelli or Flaherty, Chavez

If Crisp was obtained and Jones was not traded, would the O's plug Crisp into LF with Reimold moving to DH? Would they be willing to move Jones to LF, and move Crisp into CF?

Crisp had a 20.8 UZR /150 in '09, a 15.5 UZR/150 in '10, and a -6.7 UZR/150 in '11. What stands out to me the most, is that his total innings in '11 were more than in '09, and '10 combined.

I can see moving Jones. I'm not going to be excited if moving Jones results in only the addition of Crisp, Jurrjens, and a lower-tier prospect.

Whether you get Crisp or not, you should trade Jones if the right deal is there.

I don't really want Jurrjens but other teams do and I think the Orioles should look to flip him for more young talent, whether it be a 3 team trade or 2 seperate trades.
