Congratulations to Brenda Frese and the Maryland Terrapins on advancing to their seventh straight Big Ten conference championship game, in their seventh year in the league. The Terrapins are 23-2 and projected to be a 2 seed, with a legitimate chance to win the second national championship in the program’s history. Coming into this season, the Terrapins had averaged 30 wins per season in their first six seasons in the B1G. This area has been blessed with more than a handful of Hall of Fame coaches - Earl Weaver, George Allen, Don Shula, John Thompson, Lefty Driesell, Joe Gibbs, and Gary Williams, among others, and Frese deserves to be included in any conversation pertaining to the all-time coaching greats in this area’s history. Though Maryland Women’s Basketball had a nice history before Frese came to College Park from the University of Minnesota, the Terrapins were 7 games below .500 overall in Hall of Fame Coach Chris Weller’s final nine years in College Park. In the nine seasons prior to Frese, the Terrapins posted a winning record in the ACC just once, and never won more than 18 games in any of those nine seasons. Frese’s Terps have won at least 21 games in 17 straight seasons, and this season will finish among the top 10 in the country for the 11th time under her tenure. Frese has won 509 games in her 19 years at Maryland, averaging 27 wins per season (including this shortened season), and has registered a .797 (509-130) win percentage.

Frese has been so consistently good at MD. Thats not easy to do. Even in women's college basketball

It's payback time baby. Terps already look the far superior team. 12-4.

Watched the second half, first women’s game I’ve watched this year.  Wow, Maryland is good, I believe better than the team that won the championship.  I know it’s a different game but the Turgeon coaching staff could learn a thing or two from the Frese staff on how to run an offense.

Or just hire Brenda Frese to replace him. I’m about 39.67% serious on that.

Looking forward to this game, wish it wasn't so late. Should be a comfortable win even with Collier down low if we play up to our standards.

I didn't watch them play all year but I watched that game and came away surprised at the lack of athleticism they showed. Not sure how they only lost 2 games. Btw as great of a program as Freese has built they haven't been past the S16 since '15
