Bleier said it felt like he was shot in the back. So much pain he didn’t know if batter was out till he was in trainers room. Says feels like he let team down #orioles So, it’s a grade 3 lat tear for Bleier and surgery Tuesday #orioles

Bleier had six week checkup since last surgery. Got out@off sling, will work on strength, range of motion, then resume throwing in about three months. should be ready by beginning of spring training. #orioles

Left-hander Richard Bleier, in the #Orioles’ clubhouse, said he’ll begin a rehab assignment tomorrow with Frederick. He expects to need at least five appearances going through there, Bowie and Norfolk.

He was good in 17 and 18 before the injury, and bad last year. 

 

When guys with Bleier's stuff start to go bad, they rarely turn it back around.

 

I guess it doesn't matter much is losing 100 or more is acceptable.

Bleier can still be released in ST and the team will only owe him 1/4 of that.  Makes sense to see how he looks in ST rather than to have non-tendered him.  We've seen him be good in the past, doesn't cost much to get a look for 2020.
