So..... week away.

Been a nice quiet month, allowing the roster to solely focus on Texas lol.

 

 

The players deserve support. Wonder if anyone will be in the stands for MD?

I know a lot of people I went to school with are going. Hopefully fans are willing to make this season about the players and support them instead of abandoning ship.

 

From the videos I've seen on social media from some of the players, these guys seem really loose and energized about this season. There are plenty of veterans on both sides of the ball, so hopefully they're able to focus on the task at hand and forget about all of the program's issues.

Looks like Matt Canada won't be addressing the media until tomorrow afternoon, so we should see it then. Things have been very closed-off from the media since Jordan McNair's death, so we likely won't get much information before Saturday's game.

It's here. Key takeaways:

 

• No starting QB named, and we probably won't get the official word until kickoff on Saturday. I'd be surprised if it wasn't Hill.
• There's a few new positions! "F-RB" and "F-TE", which are likely hybrid H-Backs and slot receivers. These guys will be motioned heavily and used in a myriad of ways, along with the "F-WR", which leans more towards a slot receiver.
• In a bit of a shocker, Terrance Davis has lost his starting RG spot. Johnny Jordan slots in at C, with Brendan Moore shifting to RG.
• Looks like Antoine Brooks, Jr. is sticking at nickel after all, after some talk he might slide up to safety.
• Rayshad Lewis isn't on the offensive depth chart at all, so looks like he's a full-time DB.
• New kicker alert! The freshman has won the job, Joseph Petrino will be the new kicker.
• Ty Johnson will return kickoffs, and Taivon Jacobs will return punts.

Have to think if it was at M&T Bank Stadium MD might have sold more tickets. People in this area know FedEX field is a pain in the ass to get in and out of. At M&T, I probably try to go. $22 on stubhub right now for upper deck. (if they tarp it off, do you get to move down?)

Maryland is also just not a draw. Even the student section of games last year were largely vacant.

I think it's pretty important for MD to get off to a good start.
