Should have a good year next year.
The way he was talked about by past teammates, he may be an excellent mentor to have around.
I would guess he won’t have a lot of trade value next year but next offseason, if he pitches a full season well, he should command a decent package.

Given how starters are always in high demand come the ASB I think if he has a solid first half he may be a very good trade chip come late July.

A bullpen session Monday or Tuesday will let Cobb know if he's ready. Said if regular season game tonight he probably would have pushed through it #orioles
Cobb said no tests scheduled. No pain in groin. More like "fatigue" he felt in bullpen, and then of course "baseball happens" and he had to cover 1st base. Has no idea about opening day. Doesn't want to speculate #orioles

It really doesn't matter much. The Orioles have been put together to lose, so I look for them to use an opener for opening day.
Paul Fry followed up by Mike Wright.

O's expect Cobb to start the year on injured list. His first gm is likely to be the home opener.

The Athletic: After facing as many curveballs as he’s thrown, Orioles pitcher Alex Cobb is ready to live his best life

If the splitter is as good as it was today all season he will easily be our best starter. Might even be tradeable.

Im not trading him just to trade him though.
His contract isn't hurting the team, so if he is dealt, we need value back.
He has a great reputation as a hands on vet, help out younger pitchers, etc...He is a solid pitcher who won't usually hurt you (last year notwithstanding because of when he was signed).

Getting Cobb back would help eat some innings for the rotation.
