So much for hoping for a healthier season this year..

They join CJ Brown, AJ Hendy, Matt Robinson and a few others as guys who were expected to make significant contributions who are now injured.
And we still have 10 days before the first game!
I didn't think the injury bug could get much worse than last year, but already the Terps are starting to make a run of it.

It will be a real shame if Tate can not get back to playing, and performing. 2 yrs ago, he was playing at an elite level, and I was positive would be a very high round draft choice. With this additional year of eligibility, I was hoping things would balance out and go right for him, after how trying things were for him last yr.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

O/U 4.5 wins for MD terps football this year.
Know you are not a fan, but you will get a sense for the roster if you read the Q&As (particularly the Phil Steele one).
Before practice started I was thinking 3 wins if everything again went wrong, and 8 wins if everything went right.
Prior to the Brown and Monroe's injuries I had MD beating W&M, UConn, Wake, and Boston College for 4 wins.
I thought Temple, UVA, NCST, Georgia Tech, and UNC were toss-up type games. I would have taken 3 of those 5, but could have seen 4 as possible.
I'm going to stick with 5+ wins, and Birds of B'more and I have a bet on that. Most agree with him at 2-4 wins.

Queue conspiracy theories on the safety factor of the new field in 5....4....3....
They don't practice on that field much. 95% of practice is on the separate practice fields, which have been turf for years.

OK. I know I saw Brown's injury happened on the Byrd field. I thought they were practicing there more regularly right now to break it in (forgive the pun) and to get the players used to it.

That's really possible. I was actually wondering how they would get enough reps on it to be comfortable for the season myself so it makes sense.

Well, look on the bright side... another 2 win season gives us another top draft pick.
And don't we get some supplemental picks for all those transfers too?

I'm going to quote this post and say "what Chris said" (except for the bet).Know you are not a fan, but you will get a sense for the roster if you read the Q&As (particularly the Phil Steele one).

Hills apparently is quite poised at QB, especially for a true freshman. I know he hasn't seen game action yet, but it sounds like the offense is moving forward well with him. Diggs was insanely good at the scrimmage I went to on Saturday, and if the Terps D can slow down some of the weaker offenses in the league, the Terps O will have a shot.
The injuries all suck, of course, but the team will move on. I really hope it has nothing to do with the new field.

Where are they getting the money to get another coach since the Athletic Department is in such great financial shape? Edsall still has $6 million (guaranteed) left on his deal after this season, barring scandal I really think he'll get another year.Well, look on the bright side... another 2 win season gives us another top draft pick.

You know where they wouldn't be able to get the money? From the fans and boosters who walk away after another really bad season.Where are they getting the money to get another coach since the Athletic Department is in such great financial shape?
