Contrary to the author, I think Tara Lapinsky and Johnny Weir do a great job. Yes, Johnny sure likes his gayness to be noticed... he's a character... but when it comes to the skating, they're both all business and on point. They also disagree about things and do it in a respectful way. I look forward to them doing their job.
I don't know why the author focuses on the anchors. The anchors don't do much of anything. What matters is who's commenting on the events as they happen.
The best of these is Bodie Miller. He has a knack most others don't: he understands what the audience likely does not understand, and he explains it in plain English.; The main weakness of many commentators is that they don't get that... they don't understand what the audience doesn't, so they comment on finer points without addressing obvious questions about the basics.

I'll take Tirico over Costas any day.
I think Tirico is excellent.... and while I respect Costas, I've never held him in the same regard Milton does.
