I didn't get to watch the Sugar Bowl, but I wouldn't be surprised if Georgia mailed it in, or just viewed the whole thing as a chance to party on Bourbon St. It happens. Just look at Alabama's record under Saban in non-CFP/BCS bowls. There aren't many examples to go by, obviously, but I do recall them getting shellacked a couple times in bigger bowl games, once even against Utah (and that was before they joined the Pac-12).

I'm sure Texas was much more motivated to show well last night, and even discounting the game score I'm sure it was evident to anyone who watched the game. When your goal is nothing less than a title and you come up short, and don't have the opportunity to even play for it, it can be a lot harder to get up for a meaningless bowl game. And if your opponent feel they have something to prove you can really get embarrassed, even against a lesser team.

Clemson moneyline is close to 2:1 right now.

I think this game is a coin toss so if Vegas wants to give me 2:1 on my investment, I'll let them.

It's the other Lawrence this game will come down to. He's not an immobile guy, but I'd much rather have a QB like Kyler Murray if I have to beat Alabama (but I'll take Clemson's defense over OK's, of course).

A friend of mine is at the game and he said the Bama kicker missed 8 straight warmup kicks.

All Clemson tonight.  Alabama just seems a couple of steps slow tonight.

Anyway the Ravens can draft Ross this year and just wait a few years?

Holy shit what a talent he is.

Might be worth the wait.

Tigers 44 - 16.  I think it is safe to call it a night.

5 am comes early tomorrow.

A Clemson blowout was probably the least likely outcome of the night.

What a dominating effort.
