Hah, awesome.  I thought New Jersey was alone in it's stupidity of forcing people to use the pump attendant.  I don't even think I've seen a gas station that offers full service outside of Jersey.

Got gas in NJ on the way home yesterday. Stations on the turnpike were dozens of cars deep. The attendants were hustling but they work like two or four pumps at a time. It definitely slows things down. Just idiotic but not much in NJ makes sense to me.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Leaving an Orioles game a few years ago, I stopped at a gas station on Potee Street. While I'm pumping my gas, a car pulls in with two college-age women inside. They stop at the pump, and stay in the car. I'm wondering why they aren't getting out of the car (and don't seem to be actively doing anything else), when it hits me that the car has New Jersey plates and I think, are they waiting for a gas attendant?

They were clearly staying in the car until you left

We have a full service only gas station right near the Baltimore County/Carroll County line, it's been there forever.

What’s the policy reason for not allowing people to pump gas? Just for the jobs at this point?

I normally am the scariest thing in a South Baltimore gas station.

Pretty much. The law has been in place since the 1950's, a time when full-service gas was the standard. People outside Oregon tend to make a much bigger deal of it than people here. If there was a significant movement to change it, it would have happened by now. I don't get the sense it's really that big a deal.

Is it the station at the corner of Liberty Rd and Wards Chapel? If so, that place definitely has been there forever. Got the tank filled at that station more than a few times.

I wonder if I should stop and get gas at a full service station at some point, just to see what it's like.
