I think it's a good idea, and I'm surprised that it hasn't been thought of before.
I don't think it will WORK, but I do think it absolutely has merit.

He needs to find a frontman. Someone the public will actually like, versus someone who exploits their own children to sell shoes.

Several famous people have come out in support, but nobody has come out as a backer. It sucks because a guy like Cuban would be great to front this, but it's a huge conflict of interest, of course.
