Reggie, Greg, and Zach will be doing a Q&A amongst each other...questions you would like to see them address?

Concerned over the lack of walks in the minors by Hays?

Thoughts on Sisco's defense behind the plate?

What position can we realistically expect Mountcastle to play long term?

The plan for Tanner Scott? Reliever, Starter?

They want him to harness his control. How? Management historically won't let a pitcher throw certain pitches in development. Maybe make him pinpoint 92-94 mph before letting him ramp up to 100+? Is that possible?

Does D.J. Stewart make it to Norfolk? September call up maybe? Expectations?

Who is a highly-rated guy who has a hole in his game that MLB players will exploit to the point they won't be able to stick?

Who is a lowly-rated guy who does one thing well enough to carve out a long-term niche at the back end of the roster (LOOGY, mid-relief, utility, reserve OF, backup C type guys)?

Not yet on Hays.

Sisco is improving, but will need to work on communication/confidence with pitchers. This is where Wynns is very good.

Secondbase for Mountcastle

Reliever all the way for Scott. With a power fastball and plus slider, there is no reason to force him to develop another pitch - hoping he can be a starter.

Stewart was still drafted way too high in my opinion, but has certainly turned it around after hitting a few rough spots early on. However, he certainly put together a 2017 that can't be ignored. I would expect him to finish the season with Norfolk.

I think he will adjust, but Hays right now, as he's 22 and has an aggressive approach, especially with off-speed pitches out of the zone. However, that is an issue for most 22 year olds.

This scout says there is no way Mountcastle can play second.

The interesting take in that article was on Sisco. This guy questioned his desire and effort to be a good defensive catcher pre 2017. Says he feels like he improved in that regard last year but if the Os scouts were giving Buck the same reports about his desire and effort then you can see why Buck hasn't gone out of his way to praise the kid

There's a lot of real estate between where he is in the minors and the big leagues still. Schoop was tripping over his feet still when he first got to AA. He got better...MUCH better. I know development and improvement isn't what we are used to around here...but you can't just think what you see in A or AA is 100% what you have...period, there's still room for improvement. Sorry...just get a bit touchy when people are so quick to say oh this kid can only play this or that when they are so young still. Plenty of ML players learn to play passable ball somewhere they've never played before all the time. Especially when we are talking 2B. It's not like we are saying can he stick behind the plate or at SS.

I think second base is low on the totem pole of defensive positions with the way the game is played now, so I assume he can figure out how to play second base at some adequate level.

I'd say relief for Scott--the potential for him to be an elite closer is there, provided of course that he improves his control. Stewart should be in Norfolk for at least some of 2018. Last year was a good rebound for him, but I still question whether he'll ever hit for enough power to be an everyday outfielder.

Not concerned about Hays, at least for now.

Sisco is improving behind the plate, and I think it's a matter of continuing to develop through experience. I also think that by, having John Russel on staff, the Orioles are in a good position to let Sisco continue to develop defensively as he eases into the majors. (Similar to what they did with Caleb Joseph.)

With Mountcastle, I prefer left field, but will not rule out second base, third base, or first base (first is admittedly the least likely option, based on the Orioles' depth right now). What shouldn't get lost in the discussion is that Mountcastle could still enter the majors without his position settled. It's very possible his first position in the majors will be based on need, and the Orioles bring him up just to get his bat in the lineup before deciding where to put him long term. In other words, don't assume that if he comes to the majors as a third baseman that he's going to stay there--that could prove to be temporary before he goes elsewhere.

Tanner Scott has the makings of a great reliever, but his control is a huge hole that will certainly be exploited if it doesn't improve.

I agree with Reggie on Austin Wynns.
