It's crazy to me that AAU number's are taken into consideration for this. I'd talk to AAU coaches about work ethic, immeasurables, etc. but not the numbers themselves. It would seem to me, the growth since AAU would cloud those numbers to the point of irrelevance.

I am guessing they matter because so many of these guys had 1 year of college and they want another sample size to judge them on.
Not to mention, you are playing the best of the best in AAU, so that helps.
Overall though, I agree with you. There are still guys on these AAU teams that aren't playing major D1 bball, so who cares what you do against them?
