A friend of a friend is the short version. The longer version is a group of us went out for Sunday brunch, and my friend brought her along. They were in culinary school together. That was the first time we met. I got a minute to talk to her and asked if she wanted to hang out more that day after brunch. Turned me down. Lol. The next time I saw her was about 3 months later. My friend was getting married, she was invited. My date to the wedding stood me up. Yada yada yada, now we're married.

We met in high school. Asked her to senior prom and we ended up dating. Dated all through college but broke up shortly before graduation. Had a bunch of on/off stuff amidst dating other people but eventually got back together for good about five years after we broke up.

I met my wife at UNC, the beginning of sophomore year
We lived in the same building, on the same floor. She would talk on the phone, while on the balcony, to her family/boyfriend-at-the-time. I'd pass by and say hey out of niceness, but she always ignored me.
One day (my birthday, actually), I came up for air after playing 3 hours of video games with my roommate, I went outside, and decided to go talk to her. Hi, what's your name, where you from, etc. She answered, but was clearly incredibly annoyed with me. So I gave up, and was like, "Fine, I'll just go back to my room and play Super Smash Brothers"
"YOU HAVE SMASH?!?!? WHAT?!?!?"
We played that game for literally the rest of the day, became a couple two weeks later, and have been together even since. That was 16 years ago.
