 I've heard some people question whether Chance Sisco will stick behind the plate, what's your take?

Kyle Glaser: Sisco made a lot of strides in his receiving, blocking and game-calling this year. He's better back there than he gets credit for. However, his throwing went backwards, and if you can't control the run game, you're a liability back there. So...I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt, and say he can stick, but he's got to improve his throwing (or at least get it back to where it was)

Why is Eloy Jimenez ranked so much higher than Austin Hays? Hays was given the same hit tool, is faster and is a better defender. Is the difference between a 70 and 60 power grade that big of a difference?

Right, but I'm saying that I think Hays has a much wider range of possibilities than most other prospects who have a similar resume in terms of age and production.  So if you're a scout who thinks he has a good shot to continue to hit at the MLB level with his current approach, he's gonna be very high on your list.  If you think it's likely he struggles at higher levels due to his aggressive approach and violent swing, then he's gonna be lower on your rankings.

 

Seems very reasonable that some scouts think he belongs at the front end of the top 100 and others think he should be at the back.  It's very obvious by watching him bat that he isn't going to be someone who everyone agrees on.

I don't disagree but I think this really applies to any prospect.  The consensus is usually there for the top 10-20 guys...after that, its a crap shoot.

 

Even the top 10-20 guys are a crapshoot but there is at least more of a consensus where they should be ranked.

Keith Law posted a list of 10 players who just missed his top 100 - apparently 2 Orioles are on it.  Any ESPN insiders here?

Mountcastle is 101 - due to lack of a position. But he's the definitive 101. He's seen good throws from third and wounded sparrows. If he had a position, he'd be ranked. 

 

Harvey is the other. Concerned about the cross action and control. And the curve wasn't as good prei-injury. And he's worried that he didn't change his delivery at all post-injury (which I think is kind of silly). But mentions he had the stuff to be there pre-injury and if he bounces back could be back in the top 100 soon.
