Not sure who's been following the tropics since Harvey, but Irma has reached Cat 5 status with the 2nd highest recorded winds ever. It's looking more likely that this one may hit Florida over the weekend.

I'm at complete hurricane fatigue.
And it's still early in the season too.
This is when living there really blows I assume?

Evidently, if a Category 6 existed, Irma would be knocking on the door.

Thinking of you McNulty - Hope all goes as well as it can man. This looks brutal. This is the only Atlantic Hurricane that has sustained winds of at least 180 MPH for over 24 hours. That' sustained. I wonder what the gusts are like. Just horrible.

I have an uncle who lives in Bradenton, south of Tampa. Texted him yesterday to see how he was planning to ride out the storm. Didn't seem too worried about it, just going to put up his hurricane shutters and ride it out. But the videos of people evacuating is insane. I guess thats why they didn't do it in Houston.
