Beckham has a good attitude, that should help, but I have never been a big fan of taking two guys out of their best position, especially in this case to pacify, a player, who  is more than likely a short  timer.

Just to clarify, I  have no doubt Manny will be a better shortstop than Beckham, and I think it is a given that Beckham will not be anywhere near as good as Manny was at 3B.

The question is, will Manny at SS and Beckham at third be better than the reverse?

I think it will.  Buck does, too.  I don't think there is any chance that this move is made to solely placate Manny or try to convince him to extend here.  I think Buck thinks this is our best defensive configuration.

I have no doubt he thinks that, and I hope he is right.  I do think, at least part of it, is to keep Manny happy.

Probably needs surgery, out for 6 weeks.

BREAKING: Tim Beckham will most likely need surgery for core injury, per Buck Showalter. He'll miss about six weeks.

And Achillies.

I thought I read he has both issues, the groin was residual from ST.

Note: Confirmed mlb.com article that left groin has been an issue since ST

Maybe he's just going to be one of those guys who isn't gong to be that durable. Guy seems to have a history of hamstring issues as well.

Could be why he shouldn’t be playing everyday too.

Could also have been a factor in moving him to third as well.

Tim Beckham (groin) is slated to begin a rehab assignment on June 14.
He's likely to head to Double-A Bowie. Beckham, who is coming back from core muscle surgery, is eligible for activation on June 23 and would seem to have a good shot to return then. Jun 1 - 4:01 PM

I sense sarcasm, but we're only 26 games below .500 with a cool 98 games remaining!

A record of 71-27 gets them to 90 wins. ;)

Tim Beckham said he is thrilled to be in the lineup tonight. Said he has dealt with the muscle core injury but just felt like he had to play through it. Now that surgery has fixed it he’s psyched to have it behind him and to be part of a lineup that is finally healthy throughout.

I did not like Beckham's play at SS, but he has taken it to an unbelievable low.

using awful to describe it, is being kind.
