Lowther really has not earned the recall, but there is a spot start needed today, and he is likely to eat innings after Baker serves as the opener.

He's just not MLB caliber.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Newman and Palmer were talking about him changing what had me him successful in-search of increased velocity, and that impacting him overall.

He needs to go take a look at what worked for him, and go be that... and it either works or it doesn't.

But this version certainly doesn't.

I still think there is a pitcher in Lowther.  I found his comments interesting that he needed to get back to what he was doing prior to this year.  Why did he change.

I mentioned it during the game thread last night, that we need to stop making judgements on guys who have less than 4o innings in the big leagues.  Pitchers settle ina nd adjust.  Sometimes it takes time, and maybe a new location but it happens.

Look at Nestor Cortes Jr.  Anyone wish we were his last stop?

He's certainly better than he has shown to be this year at AAA.

But he needs to find what he was previously coming up, and earn his way back to any future opportunity.

Agreed, and yesterday was, IMO, not about opportunity, but about the team being desperate for someone to throw more than 1 inning.

Yesterday's game in retrospect, was lost in the second inning, and while Lowther was not good, he stayed in the fight long enough so the important part of the pen was able to get a  very much needed night off and gives us a better chance to win tonight and tomorrow, if we can score some runs.
