IMS: Tom Herman Talks Terps
http://maryland.247s...apins-106603231

Good read, I really like Herman. Was great to hear someone of his caliber say this about Durkin and the MD program: "For him to get his hands on a program like that, I think the sky’s the limit for him and what he’s able to accomplish there."

Yeah, defensive subs might be difficult... but maybe you counter that by alternating series for some guys?

For sure. Also, keeping the offense behind the chains as much as possible will be crucial. If you can get a stop or two early in series, even the fastest offenses will tend to slow things down and sub. But if you let the offense string 10-15-20 play drives together, it becomes really tough to sub and the defense will be exhausted very quickly.

Solid write up here. Though they think our coach is "D.J. Durkins." It's true, our offense is one-dimensional. Even if the offensive line gives Piggy time, I just don't know how much he can do with that. But I think Ty/Zo is enough to keep things interesting. I've been waiting all offseason to see these two work. Such a crowded backfield.

Check my post, #4 in this thread....they still haven't fixed it. Typical Texas attitude though. LOL.

Reminds me of the story of the JHU president who went to Pittsburgh for a speech. He was introduced as the president of "John Hopkins University", so he opened with how much he was enjoying his time in "Pittburgh".

Not a rout. I wish Charlie Strong were still there though. I think MD will be respectable, maybe even be in the game in the 4th.

I really don't know what to expect tomorrow. Just when I start to think that Texas has too much talent, is playing at home, and should win easily, I remember that they somehow managed to lose to Kansas last season.

CBS Sports: Friday Five: College football predictions so crazy they just might come to fruition
https://www.cbssport...me-to-fruition/

1. Texas will make the College Football Playoff: I've been somewhat silently banging this drum a lot during the offseason. While it's certainly far-fetched, it might not be as unrealistic as you think.

Texas, for all of its faults in recent years, is still a talented team. In fact, according to 247Sports' team talent rankings, Texas is 13th in the country and has more talent than anybody else in the Big 12.

Also, let's look at the Big 12 right now. Sure, Oklahoma is the favorite to win it, but Bob Stoops is gone. Lincoln Riley may be the right man for the job in the long run, but it isn't crazy to believe there could be some speed bumps during his first year.

Then there's Oklahoma State, which is certainly a good team, but it isn't a juggernaut.

There's an opportunity there for the Longhorns. If Tom Herman can work the same kind of magic in burnt orange that he did as an offensive coordinator at Ohio State and then as head coach at Houston, this is a Texas team that could improve quickly.

It's a Texas team that could win the Big 12, and if that happens, a playoff bid is within reach.

Define respectable and in the game. I'd be shocked if it's under 10 points at any time in the 4th

I think they're gonna beat us bad. 3+ TD win.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty
