Expectations this year for Griffin: Continue to learn the system and become comfortable with surrounding personnel. Become accustomed to the talent, strength, and speed of defensive personnel in the league. Consider failures learning experiences, knowing when to have a long memory and a short one. Keep a balance of focus between short-term and long-term goals. Learn to outthink the opponent after digesting actual game experience - film and other resources are valuable, but field experience is a whole different level. Maybe have a couple or few great moments. Continue learning to lead at this level.
Expectations in the future: These will in part be determined by what happens this year. Some expectations are the same - balanced focus, perspective, and the like. Others.... Continue to develop all aspects of talent. Continue to build trust. Outperform your opponents. Win games. Win many games. Restore levels of competency and competitiveness long absent.
Yeah, those are pretty nebulous and qualitative, but there's not much else to go on at the moment. There are more if I sit around long enough, I guess, but those are just the ones that pop into mind. Just hoping this fall that his game translates well and develops.
