Better chance Wells, Bradish, and or Kremer will be in the 2024 rotation over Hall.

For 2024 I put these guys in this order as far as starters go:

1. Wells

2. Bradish

3. Kremer

4. Hall

I think Bradish, Kremer, and Hall all have the same issue. Got stuff but not sold they can figure out how to use it.

Hall started last night but only went 3 innings, anyone know why?

Bob said they are “deloading” him so he can help with the major league bullpen. IMO it’s the right move.

Is that a permanent thing?  I feel like he deserves at least a shot as a  starter

Here’s the tweet Bob linked in the 2023 General MiL thread - https://twitter.com/...UJft8skf32X07Q.

I just think his walk ratios and I’d speculate, but don’t know, his hard hit rates - suggest starter wouldn’t be in the cards for him longterm. Posting a mid-4’s FIP/xFIP in AAA with a 4.61 BB/9 just doesn’t feel encouraging to me. My guess is the things they’re asking him to focus on aren’t working and they’ll try this now so he can at least get some major league experience, and hopefully in a fashion that is successful rather than a failed shot at starting while trying to win.

He’s probably like 7th right now behind the current 5 and Irvin so I don’t mind him being a reliever this year and seeing if he can help the MLB team. I hope they don’t shut down starting forever though, I’m not convinced yet that he can’t and even if he’s a backend guy that’s useful.

I wonder if for non-uber SP prospects, they will also take a Rays approach of gaining confidence and development in the bullpen, and then moving them to the rotation once in a better place?

I'm not done with him as a starter by any means, but definitely on board with having him be in the MLB bullpen right now.

Maybe Hall will be the long guy the team seems to have a glaring need for.

I also have noticed Tate struggling in his rehab assignments.  Maybe Hall is plan B.

If not, I am not sure how we fit Hall, Tate and Givens back in.

Gotta love these updates lol.

Deliberate Physical Training Phase must be just after the Deloading Phase on their little “convert failed SP prospect to RP” flow chart.

This seems like a more normal English version.

Nathan Ruiz
@NathanSRuiz
In his most recent Triple-A outing, DL Hall's four-seamer averaged 93.2 mph and topped out at 94.7 mph. There's a clear desire from the organization for Hall to get his top velocity back, and this seems to be the chosen path for that.

Ok, I’ll shut up now. I like that goal. Hopefully it works. Wonder what happened there in the first place? Gotta wonder if he’s healthy IMO.

Bob said recently, I believe, that he had a back injury this offseason and couldn't lift. I'm surprised that caused a loss of like 5 MPH but I know nothing about that stuff.

It seemed a lot to me too, but these guys are committed to their routines.

DL has 3 scoreless innings in 2 appearances with Norfolk with 7 K's since his transition to reliever.

His back injury was worse than we thought, but nice to see him have the velocity back.
