I'd rather play McKenna than Cameron, but I'm fine with Cameron being added for depth behind McKenna until Cowser is ready in a week or whatever.

Same here, McKenna gets more time, Cameron steps into McKenna's role, Cowser comes up and plays regularly when he gets back and has a few games to get timing back and such.

In reality, McKenna deserves an extended look considering the circumstances. We all expect things to go a certain way with exposure to being a regular but hes not a complete nothing

McKenna absolutely destroyed AAA. Not saying he's definitely more than a 4th OF type, but he had potential coming up. He could suffice for a short while if given regular ABs.

Rumor is we are looking at Aaron Hicks.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Agreed.  I think McKenna is going to get the majority of the time, but short term they need another good glove outfielder.

His wrist injury (torn sheath) last year sapped whatever remaining power he had.

If Twitter can be believed, and it usually can not, the Orioles are interested in Aaron Hicks.  Please no.

If they are going after Hicks this is a long term thing with Mullins

Hicks (shouldn’t) wouldn’t block Cowser’s ascension (and would only cost the league minimum).

I think if it is long term it is Cowser or maybe McKenna if he takes charge of the job.

Hicks really struggled defensively the last few years not to mention his problems at the plate.

Hicks and Orioles are close to a deal. Not done quite yet. Good spot. Mullins out at moment, O’s have used some kids in OF at times, winning team.

Daz Cameron can at least be a good fielder.

I don't think this makes a big difference compared to Cameron or whoever else for a week until Cowser is back and recalibrated.  McKenna will still be the everyday guy and Hicks the backup.  That's fine, or at least not a disaster.  But if Cowser spends more than a week or so in the minors after he returns, then it becomes a disaster.  You can't roster Hicks for that long.  Cowser is fully baked, and now we have an opening and a need.  It will be time once he's available.  If they delay him because they prefer Hicks, then fury.

Nope,  I guess they want the LH bat.(Hicks is a switch hitter)  He looks done to me, but again maybe they can catch lightning in the bottle for a month or so.

I will be disappointed if it is not Cowser within a week of his return from the IL.

Cowser and Westburg need to be given a chance to help the team offensively.

Hicks hasn't been much since 2020. If they sign him I'll root like heck for him to catch fire but I'd rather roll the dice with McKenna then Cowser.

The question becomes if they do sign Hicks and Cowser comes back who becomes the odd man out? Certainly not going to carry Hicks, McKenna, and Cowser on the roster.

I'd rather just roll with McKenna or even Cameron.

Vavra would be my guess.

Unless he gets hot, its Hicks.  I don't think signing him means he's got a spot for the rest of the year.  I really hope it doesn't.
