Towson dropped a noon matchup against Ohio State yesterday 6-3. This game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was postponed because of the weather. Personally I think this game should have been cancelled altogether. Conditions were just as bad out yesterday and that was reflected in the final score of this one.

Ohio State is absolutely embarrassing #1 Denver right now. This lacrosse season has been chaos so far.
Can't stand Tierney, so I loved seeing that. Side note, I love those chrome helmets that OSU wears!

Yeah, they're pretty sharp looking. The Buckeyes may be the new team to beat. They're undefeated and took down Towson and Denver in the same week.

They play ND on Saturday and then they have their 5 Big Ten games so we are going to find out really soon how good they are. Big Ten is really looking strong so far to the start of this season. Penn State and Rutgers are both playing really well. Should make for some great matchups as we head into Spring.

Conference play starts this weekend in earnest this weekend. Biggest game on paper is probably ND-Syracuse. Personally I'm more interested in the Big Ten Matchups. OSU-PSU, Hopkins-Rutgers are the big ones to watch, MD-Michigan could be good, but I expect the Wolverines to be exposed in this one.

Definitely looking forward to ND-Syracuse. Cuse has won a lot of 1-goal games without playing much defense.

Another wild weekend in Men's D1 Lacrosse! Locally the teams had a good weekend. Maryland and Johns Hopkins opened conference play in the B1G with wins over Michigan and Rutgers. The Blue Jays look like the have regained their first month momentum after a bumpy March. Coach Dave Pietramala's team played a complete game in the 12-6 win over the Scarlet Knights. On offense Kyle Marr (5g, and last weeks Offensive POW) and Shack Stanwick (4G, 2a) had big games. Hunter Moreland was excellent at face-offs, winning 13-for-22 with seven ground balls. The Terps handled Michigan in an 15-8 win. Freshman Jared Bernhardt, junior Connor Kelly and senior Dylan Maltz were offensive weapons for Maryland, all three having 4 goals and 3 assists. Navy is looking solid in the Patriot League after a win over Holy Cross, beating the Crusaders, 11-4. LSM Matt Rees (Boys' Latin) hat a hat trick for Navy. Another BL alum Pat Spencer (5g,1a) had another great day at the office for Loyola as the Greyhounds beat Colgate 12-5 in Patriot League action. After back-to-back losses to Ohio State and a nail bitter to Denver, the Tigers were able to collect a much needed win over CAA foe Drexel, winning 8-7. Ryan Drenner (Westminster) lead the Tigers in goals with four. After going 3-1 in the month of March, the Mount opens April by laying an egg, losing 14-8 to Sacred Heart at home.
