Browns traded from 4 to 9... picked up 1st next year, and I  believe a 4th.

 

At 9, they select Justin Gilbert... giving Cleveland 2 nice CB's...

Cleveland's got a great secondary.

 

You always say the talent is there, the talent has been there, and they just had a good/great first round.

So the Browns traded up from the pick they got from Indy in the Richardson trade to get Manziel. I really don't think Manziel is the guy... so as "great" as that trade was on paper, I really don't think it mattered much at the end of the day. Still, you'd obviously much rather have a rookie QB who might pan out, vs. a once perceived "stud" RB who didn't. So in that respect, they still very obviously won the trade. But it wasn't some game changer for the organization. At least, I don't think it was. We'll see how Manziel fares.

That's a huge blow to the Browns, and what a stupid mistake.

I don't think weed should incur such a penalty, but the rules are the rules. You can't be that dumb as a player.
