At some positions, the Baltimore Orioles are set for the coming season and beyond. However, it may not be too long before the club needs help—especially with some positions expected to have limited depth in the majors this season.

Reading this, and with every position my initial reaction is, "Oof."

If Oof means we have a problem then 100% agree.

I feel like we are back in the late 1990 and early part of the 2000's.  Not much there and some of the projects the Orioles are touting are 4 AAAA players or career minor league types.

In reading about Chris Lee and Jason Garcia, I flashback to Matt Riley and Hayden Penn.  I hope they prove me wrong.

I'd say Matt Riley and Hayden Penn were much, much better prospects than Lee or Garcia.  And we know how well they turned out.

I'm not all that high on Lee, and have never seen what the O's apparently do in Garcia.

Maybe I overlooked it, but Cedric Mullens deserves a mention.  Speedster who has shown a bit of pop with the bat.  Should start the year in Frederick.  Ideally he takes over for Jones in CF in a few years - if he develops.

I saw him last week in the televised exhibition game.  Looks like he is 12 years old, but looks like he could really run, plus I think he hit 14 home runs last year.  Intriguing.

We have been a wasteland for outfield prospects.  We need some.

Mullins with a strong second half, overall good year at Delmarva.  Impressed in ST and, of course, had a great debut in AA last night with a 4-5 just a triple short of the cycle.   I would rate him and Hays as our two best outfield prospects.   Mullins might actually be #1.   Of course, I like Santander too if we can hold onto him.   Offensively, he might be #1 but Hays and Mullins are better rounded players.

Also ovelooked, IMO, is 3B Drew Dosch who put up a strong second half at Bowie (.878 OPS post all star in 183 AB's) and finally started to drive the ball.    He's 24 years old and a fringy prospect but could surprise.
