Seth with the clean sweep in college! Thanks for the Pitt pick.

Got back from Charles Town not long ago. Had a nice little day, came home with more than I went with. (Thanks Clemson). I was so close to a big score (big for me) on OKST with the money line at +800. But I bet the over and had that anyway. First time I've been to a sports book since a trip to Vegas six years ago.

Guy I went with bets pretty frequently. Turned me onto 2nd half lines which I never cared about or looked at before. For example, Pitt vs. VA Tech. Pitt was a -3 favorite. At halftime Pitt was up 24 points. Clearly way above expectation. So at the half VA Tech was listed as a +0.5 dog for the second half. So you would take VA Tech +0.5 if you think the game ends closer to the -3 Pitt was laying rather than Pitt continuing the onslaught. Maybe they rest some guys, maybe they put on the brakes. It was working too, VA Tech winning the second half by 1 when Pitt broke off a 97 yard TD run with just a few minutes to play, with a nasty stiff arm to boot half way there. Oh well.

Worked out well in another game, Marshall vs. Charlotte. I had Marshall -13. At halftime they only led by three. Their second half spread was -6. So I bet a little more on the -6 second half, meaning if Marshall won by 10 (3 point lead plus the -6, plus 1 for the win), I'd lose the first bet, but win the second one, break about even. Marshall ran away with it in the second half, so I won both bets on the game. Cashing two tickets was better than cashing one.

Those were the only two I played, but he won more than he lost on a handful of 2nd half bets.

Also a little bit of an adrenaline rush when games get to the half, you're anxiously waiting for the second half line to come up on the board, have to make a pretty quick decision with no real homework other than what you just watched. Probably easier to exploit too because odds makers are putting it up on the fly. Not like they get a lot of time to set the line for the second half.

Lots of fun things to talk about this week as we're just a few weeks away from all four major sports going on at the same time. Let's update some current odds.

MLB Series Prices:

Rockies +130

Brewers +150

Braves +190

Dodgers -225

Indians +140

Astros -160

Yankees +125

Red Sox -145

I'm personally laying off both National League Series, but will be playing both Dogs in the American League. i just have had a hunch about Cleveland for a while now, and the Chris Sale injury and the David Price postseason issues historically make me really like the Yankees in their series.

Should be a great playoffs overall, really looking forward to it.

NBA OVER/UNDERS:

one of my favorite bets every year, here's a few I'm on, in order of preference:

Dallas OVER 35

Detroit OVER 38.5

Atlanta UNDER 23.5

San Antonio UNDER 45.5

Washington OVER 45.5

Others of Note:

Golden State 63.5

Boston 59.5

Houston 56.5

Toronto 55.5

Philadelphia 54

LA Lakers 48.5

Cleveland 31

NBA MVP Odds:

LeBron 3-1

Anthony Davis 4-1

Greek Freak 5-1

James Harden 5-1

Kevin Durant 8-1

Kahwi Leonard 10-1

Stephen Curry 15-1

I personally don't follow the NHL, but for those interested, here are a few of the Favorites to win the Stanley Cup:

Tampa Bay 8-1

Toronto 9-1

Washington 9-1

Nashville 9.5-1

Pittsburgh 10-1

San Jose 10-1

Winnipeg 10-1

Vegas 10-1

Boston 15-1

NFL Futures:

AFC Championship:

New England 3-1

Kansas City 3.5-1

Jacksonville 5.5-1

Baltimore 7-1

LA Chargers 12-1

Cincinnati 15-1

Tennessee 15-1

Pittsburgh 18-1

All others 25-1 or above

NFC Championship:

LA Rams even

New Orleans 6-1

Minnesota 10-1

Philadelphia 10-1

Green Bay 11-1

Chicago 13-1

Carolina 18-1

All others 25-1 or above

Baltimore at 7-1, and Chicago at 13-1 are definitely worth a wager or two!

College Football:

Alabama 3-5

Ohio State 9-2

Clemson 6-1

Georgia 7-1

Notre Dame 10-1

This one looks too easy. Alabama looks like an NFL team right now.

One more, Early NCAA Hoops title odds:

Duke 9-2

Kentucky 5-1

Gonzaga 7.5-1

Kansas 8.5-1

North Carolina 10-1

Nevada 12-1

Villanova 15-1

Virginia 18-1

Oregon 22-1

Tennessee 25-1

Good luck!!!

liking 4 of my 5 NBA Over/Unders so far...Wizards, not so much.

Had a dream last night that Texas and Minnesota were in the CFP Title game.

Futures odds to win: Texas 25-1. Minnesota 500-1.

Place your bets!!
