Even Best Buy on Pratt St closed its doors a few years back. Why do they think retail in that area is a good idea? People buy their stuff online now.

That Best Buy was a great place to go on Black Friday to avoid crowds, but that's not exactly a ringing endorsement for it staying in business.

Nothing will attract residents of White Marsh, Columbia and Severna Park to visit downtown better than retail stores and chain restaurants that they already have a mile away from home.

Been to the Inner Harbor/Downtown on a nice day recently? It's packed. They don't even need to build that crap and it's still crowded.

 

I agree they should make it more local-driven, but with the rent they're charging, only chains will be able to afford it.

 

It's a Catch-22.
