Highly doubtful that the Angels can keep Ohtani and Trout. Just way too much payroll for 2 guys who still aren't getting you to the promised land.

I'd prefer Ohtani to Soto. Also think his prospect cost would be very slightly cheaper.
Its not impossible for personality reasons between the owners, so I guess I'll have to say this one is impossible just because our ownership won't approve the money it'd take to extend him. It won't be the 12-15 year deal that Soto is going to get, but it'll be the highest AAV in history. $45M per is my guess. He's worth more than Scherzer and he'll get 8-10 years, not a short term deal.

I think it's pretty obvious that Ohtani is the most well-rounded player to have ever lived.
Doesn't mean he's the best pitcher, the best hitter, or the best fielder.
He's just the best at being able to do everything.

Maybe, but there's also that fellow who grew up in Baltimore a long time ago.

They'll live to regret that contract but this puts the BJs on an international stage. Signing him is as much as a marketing tool as it is trying to add production to the team.
