It may be BRob coming up, not Ford.

Brob will be held off a day or two at least until they see what the deadline holds.

It is not. it sounds like he is going to try to play through it and then have an off season operation. It may be BRob coming up, not Ford.

Surgery it is. They were at the point he had to make a decision so he gave it one shot and now he's out, which on the 60-day will free up a spot on the 40 man for someone at the deadline.

For his career, he has basically hit LHP and RHP pretty even. With McLouth hitting RHP significantly better, I would think Ford would only play vs. LHP.

Ford with his 2nd homer in as many games tonight. Another player you have to feel good for.
When Lew Ford doesn't succeed, it's certainly not for lack of effort. Has to be one of the easiest guys to root for on the team.

Agreed, between him, McLouth, Miguel Gonzalez, Darren O'Day, who am I missing? When Lew Ford doesn't succeed, it's certainly not for lack of effort. Has to be one of the easiest guys to root for on the team.

That's what I was afraid his injury in September was. I think you have to non-tender him at this point. Maybe bring him back on a minor league deal, but yeah, you can't count on a guy who just had a sports hernia surgery.

I think Ford was a non tender anyway. He probably will have to decide if he wants a minor league deal with the O's or someone else. I think we may be able to find a better minor league FA or two. I like Lew's hustle and attitude but at this point we need his spot on the 40.

Exactly. Offer him a minor league deal though. We'll have to monitor his recovery though. Ask Nate Mclouth about sports hernias, he almost had to retire because of one.
