Mesmerizing? Come on.

Curling is the ultimate hipster thing. It was so lame and it was the easiest joke in sports to Americans that people are now in love with it. Like soccer used to be. Except apparently the US is actually good at curling.

Hypnotic maybe.  I watched it a lot for the Sochi games.  Don't be all Baltimore about this; its fun.

I like watching curling. Don't exactly get it.  Still convinced I could put together a group of friends and compete for a medal 4 years from now.... but do like watching it.

The only jokes with soccer are that it doesn't get America's best athletes, and the flopping. The sport itself has never been a joke.

I imagine watching curling is like watching golf if you've never done it before (or even if you have). Seems so easy when watching, especially when watching the best in the world.

I think I'm gonna try curling sometime soon. Potomac Curling Club exists and is in Laurel and they've got some events to learn how to play.

I watched my fair share of curling during the Olympics. But the fact that a few people I know plus a few here made curling required watching but passed on US Hockey...it blows my mind.

I know soccer, the sport itself, isnt a joke. But the US fans, most of them that jumped on the band wagon while the US sucks...thats the joke. They think because they know "offsides" they know soccer.

Not talking about Steve here of course. An actual soccer coach.

When I worked at a bar and the WC was on and I'd ask "soccer fans" about the team...after Landon Donavan, and Tim Howard they were clueless.

Like asking me about the Ravens but I only knoww Flacco. But I'm "such a big fan"

Hipsters man.

I watch just about all of the Olympic events. Only thing I think I turn off at first glance is ice dancing. Because wtf? I can appreciate the skill involved with figure skating, while laughing at the silly artistic part of it, but ice dancing is just figure skating minus the cool jumps and fast spins.

But I enjoy everything else. Speed skating, particularly short track, is provably my favorite. Curling, slopestyle (both snowboard and ski), half pipe, luge/skeleton/bobsled, ski jump, slalom and super g racing, cross country...man I've watched a lot over the last 2 weeks.

Wow. Crazy game! Russia takes a 2-1 lead on a sick, short side goal from a bad angle. Germany ties it at 2-2 10 seconds later! 6 minutes to go.
