Grow the armz, buy the batz.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

How about draft the arms buy the international bats.

In considering both player potential and the organization’s needs—which is a little of everything, particularly pitching—I have assembled a list of three prospects that should not only sign with the Orioles, but fill an organizational hole.

Reggie, couple thoughts I'd be interested in your perspective,

1) How do you view the amateur signing changes over the last 5 years and do you think it has helped the process, from the team perspective? from the players perspective?

2) What do you think is/are the biggest challenge(s) facing new signees as they move into this next phase

3) Early sleeper from this draft?

1) I think the org has improved with their signings, but also think the current CBA helps with that - leverage on college players vs. high school players.

2) The biggest mindset is failure. You take a guy who was a stud in his local area and now he has to experience failure.

3) Tobias Myers - RHP that can hit 94. sixth round guy.

Like the Austin Hays pick. Baseball America ranked him 47th in its Top 100, and said that he has the tools to "become a prototypical right fielder." I don't feel that the Orioles have a prospect in the system who is likely to play right field in the big leagues. Other reports I found backed up BA's observation when it came to his defense, particularly his arm.

Hays having a nice start to his career with an 855 OPS.

315/381/474
