Pete Schrager is previewing all 32 teams, counting them down from his worst to best, before the unofficial start of the season with the opening of camps.

Today, he previewed the Ravens and the Saints. The Ravens are his #8 team heading into camps.

Ultimately, he has us 2nd in the division, making the playoffs with 10-11 wins, but not getting as far as last year, primarily because he doesn't think we can overcome the loss of Suggs.

Suggs is important but the importance being placed on him is over the top.

I'm not so sure.

One of the primary differences between the success of our secondary last year versus its utter failure the year before was the difference in Suggs' ability to get to the quarterback. We had very little effective pass rush in 2010, but in 2011 Suggs turned things up a notch and we ended up with one of the best pass rushes in the league.

The impact of his loss that isn't being discussed is what it means for our secondary. Less of a pass rush means more time in coverage means QBs like Brady, Manning, and Roethlisberger picking us apart. That didn't happen last year.

Our secondary is also a lot more talented right now than it has been.

The bottom line is, Suggs' loss isn't as big a deal in the pass rush...it's more against the run and his ability to read offenses. We have enough guys that can get after the QB.

I'm really excited about our defense this year. I personally believe we have one of the best sets of corners in the league and I'm looking forward to young Upshaw getting out there right away.

I think we're better than the 8th best team and I think we will repeat as division champs. Our schedule is brutal but should suitable prepare us for a deep playoff run.
