Congrats to Seth and The Epic. I would have won $200 with a Gonzaga victory, but so it goes.

Thanks man!

I'm euphoric. Absolutely euphoric.

This is easily the worst UNC team that Roy's led to a national title. Like, easily.

If I were a UNC fan I'd do the right thing. Rise above the fix and denounce this championship. Don't accept Duke (ref) wins.

I laughed, but come on... let them enjoy the result.

They got another...  if you hate UNC, you just tip the cap, and think of what you (if you are another blue blood program, or a program that wishes to become 'elite') have to achieve to prevent them from winning another.

Separately here are the winners the last 15 years:

UConn 3x

UNC 3x
Florida 2x
Duke 2x
Kansas
Kentucky
Villanova
Louisville
Syracuse

Man, what a classy program Gonzaga is. Listening to Few and his kids at the press conference.

Class acts.

Hat tip to them.

I congratulated my uncle for UCONN, and I congratulated the boys here for UNC. I would never congratulate someone for a Duke victory.

Berry got MOP. Not sure how I feel about that.

But nobody really stood out on the team, other than..maybe Meeks? Theo should get a little love for the do-everything role.

Special shout out to Drew Bondroff, who stayed up past midnight to watch the celebration with me.

This one was real special. Makin memories, baby!!!

I'm re-watching the end of this game and wondering how I didn't have three heart attacks. Wow.

Will Gonzaga ever lobby to change conferences? Utah upgraded in football to get a little more respect. TCU, Boise St and others as well.

Creighton has done so in Basketball. Other teams have filled into the A-10 making it a decent mid-conference. Maryland upgraded from the Jefferson Pilot conference :).

But seriously. I'm not as extreme as Pedro on Gonzaga being "Fake". UNC was 32-7 going into last night. I could see the Zags also being around that had they played Arizona and UCLA twice, or 3 times if they played in the Pac 12 tourney.

Mark Few is a hell of a coach. And his players are very good. They aren't fake, or a fluke, and could hang in with anybody anytime. But they will cakewalk to a 1 seed every year if they don't change conferences.

On that note...why even bother changing conferences? Just take the easy 1 seed each year.

A lot of years they've been hurt seeding wise by the conference...  biggest reason they were a 1 this year was that they were great in-conference (and the WCC isn't horrible... 9th overall in RPI)... and they did well out of conference vs. a difficult slate.

But your point remains... they can continue to absolutely dominate the WCC, and inflate the record 'some'...  or they could join the Pac 12 and be one of the best, but suffer more losses...

Biggest concern would be revenue from joining the Pac 12.... but I imagine their lack of a football team is an issue.

Think that is why at some point it was floated that they could actually join the Big East or AAC, and have those crazy commutes.

I was rooting for Zaga but would rather have had an entertaining game even if UNC won.  If you look at the score only you thought it was a great game.  An actuality to all that watched was just a disjointed mess.  Honestly, I felt like half of the game was UNC and Zaga players shooting from the FT line.  Way too many fouls called, let them play.  I hope next year is different because I was all jazzed up for this game and it was a letdown.  Thanks Refs!

Yeah, the game was a mess. No doubt about that. THe funny thing is that UNC didn't play a complete game all tournament. (The best game they played this season, imo, was the NC State game back in January.) They hadn't looked like a complete team at all since probably two weeks before the ACC Tournament. And yet, somehow, they put it together and won.Solid.

They got a relatively favorable draw early....that always helps.

Yeah, the first 3 rounds were pretty easy on paper. I think I even said here that UNC should walk to the Elite Eight with relatively little issue.
