Remember how good Matt Cassel was in 2008 when he filled in for Brady for those 16 games?   He looked so legit.  That was all Belichick.

Brady had 50 TD, 8 INT, 4800 yards, a 117 rating and an 85 QBR in 2007.

Cassel had 21 TD, 11 INT, 3700 yards, a 89 rating and a 63 QBR in 2008.

Brady didn't really take off until 2007, before then he was just a middle of the pack QB who happened to play on the best overall team (88 QB rating from 2000-2006).  He was pretty Flacco-esque until that crazy 2007 season.  Since then, he's been incredible, 99 QB rating from 2009-present.

I think Brady was an average QB who Belichick turned into a champion at first.  But for the past almost 10 years, he's been a legit superstar and is more responsible for the Pats success since then than Belichick, IMO.

BB gets credit for the defense. They've always managed to come up with big plays, even if they aren't the best statistically.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I can't disagree with you but his stats, especially during the first 3 years he was there, were fantastic and he was a large part of why they got to the playoffs in the first place.

And he failed when it mattered like he did routinely in Indy.  When he was not good anymore a team was built and he could take it for a ride.
