Team has some improvement to make for sure, but really just a matter of effort tonight.  You could tell immediately when the switch was turned on in the 2nd half.  Eventually that's going to burn them though.

They  outclassed Rider in the 2nd half with their talent for a long enough stretch to win. Still, they didn't play better basketball. They haven't played superior basketball over their opponent very often this year. That's coaching. No other way to say it.

Gonna lose a game in Cancun, and I think that might be a good thing. Need a wake up call so they don't just rely on talent to win games.

Also, Turg needs to figure out how to get through to these guys and beat a zone. Have all the ingredients it takes, outside shooting, two guards who can penetrate, stretch guys who can operate in the high post, and a monster inside who just needs to be fed. Zone defense shouldn't be an issue for this team but we have struggled a lot so far.

Shut the fuck up. Never said we were losing. Never said we suck. We sure as fuck aren't close to being a Top 5 team right now. The fact that we are this flawed kills me. All I want is for one of my teams to live up to expectations this year.

They played a bad game for about 30 minutes. It happens. Could have been worse.

You throw these massive indictments and generalizations around like they're falling from the sky. Maybe we are overrated. Maybe we will end up being a top 20 team like you suggest. All I know it, I'm not gonna pass judgment on the entire team the third game of the season.

Wisconsin only beat Green Bay by 3 last season, and Michigan State only beat Navy by 6.

That's the hope. If you can learn an important lesson like that which often only comes through experience, and learn it without taking a loss, that's a pretty good thing.

I really think the high ranking is making people more nervous that ever.

 

Md. has a lot of talent, but they have a lot of work to do.  They were super flat against Rider, got down 14 but then were able to turn it on and win by 7.

 

Good teams have close games and will occasionally lose to weaker teams.  Md is going to lose games but will have a good year.

 

If it makes anyone feel better #1 NC lost to Northern Iowa today.
