Schilling is the best k/bb guy of all time and was a monster in the post-season.
To have him out of the HOF is to make the whole establishment seem worthless.
That's a bit much...
Then again, the HOF is about to say "no thanks" to the second greatest hitter and one of the five best pitchers ever so....
But that's not...

Looking more and more like Griffey & Piazza only as the #'s trickle in.
Bagwell and Raines might come up a bit short.

Raines is cursed by the ignorance of people he never met...

These writers are morons. How the fuck is Jeff Bagwell not a hall of famer?
He'll get in, probably next year if he doesn't sneak by today..

Sigh because it's sad but true? Or sigh because you think it's not true?

Suspicion....these BBWAA guys should have their votes taken away.
What a messed up organization full of morons.

Not sad or true.
Bagwell isn't in yet because of PED suspicion, but he'll get in. Probably next year. That's all.
Biggio got in last year, he played his entire career in the "wrong city".

I think part of the reason I get so mad is that this was MY generation that I grew up on. My dad had Mantle and Mays to tell me about it. His dad had Ruth and Gehrig to tell him about. If I take my son or daughter to the HOF I want to be able to tell them about Bonds and Clemens, because, in my mind they are as good or better than anyone from the previous generations.
But because of some holier-than-thou idiots in the BBWAA, I may not ever have that chance. They're tarnishing an entire generation of players and they aren't even sure why. I mean, Mike Piazza, the GREATEST HITTING CATCHER IN HISTORY BY A MILE, doesn't get in on the first ballot? Why? Because he had pimples on his back?
Give me a break.
Yea, and voting in Trevor Hoffman over Mussina is moronic. They should literally bring these writers to the center of Cooperstown and strip them of their voting rights in public.

Looking forward to watching some Griffey highlights. His swing might be the most perfect thing in sports.
Posted 06 January 2016 - 02:29 PM
Yes, greatest swing ever. I watched him at Camden Yards in 1993 and I was hooked.
I think I have played Ken Griffey Jr baseball on SNES more than any other video game than Halo 3.

Chris Russo was on MLB talking about how he wouldn't vote for Bonds, Clemens, Piazza, or Bagwell because of steroids. Then says he'll probably vote for Ortiz. He doesn't actually have a vote, but fuck him anyway.
He's slowly turning in Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith.
Which is sad.

Did you hear Marty Noble on MLB Radio yesterday?
He said he told Craig Biggio last year at the Hall that he never voted for him because he heard from a reliable source he was a user..
Bowden implied the other night (without naming names) that he's heard that someone who has gone in recently was absolutely a user.
So again, since no one can be 100% sure without a failed test a la Raffy, then vote them in they deserve it.
Like Pedro said above, how the hell am I going to take my Son to a Hall of Fame museum without Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. Come on!
Posted 06 January 2016 - 02:42 PM
It's just absurd.
What are the odds NOBODY in the Hall used steroids? Are Bonds and Clemens having it held against them because they happened the play in an era where there was finally rigorous testing and investigations?
How is it any different than guys who used greenies back in the day?
It's a huge double standard, and it doesn't help that Bonds and Clemens were both pricks. I am sure that some writers aren't voting for them because of that and are using roids as a scapegoat.
The whole thing makes me mad.
