The NHL wants to add cocaine to it's banned substance list?
Ummmm......It's not one already?

So is former Cap Dennis Wideman going to get suspended for this?

He says it's not intentional, but if you watch the video you might disagree with him. The only excuse I might buy is he just took a hit in the boards and he may have been concussed and not known what was what. But Wideman already said that he couldn't avoid and it wasn't deliberate so now he's already got his "excuse".

So Wideman has been suspended indefinitely with a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

I hadn't seen the live replay that you posted. Just the highlight. The highlight they run on TV didn't mention his being woozy. That seems to be the case as he just hit him and went right to the bench like nothing happened. If there was some intent, I would think there would have been words exchanged.

So remember how John Scott almost wasn't allowed to participate in the All-Star festivities after his trade and demotion (and how many thought the NHL orchestrated it)? Yeah, he won All-Star MVP tonight.

Also, the NHL higher-ups should really be embarrassed with themselves.
This is pretty much the stock response to everything the league has done for the past 25 years.

20 games for Wideman. He plans on appealing, but I'll be surprised if it's reduced at all.

Report: The Islanders Are Struggling In Brooklyn
There is a mutual out-clause in the lease agreement after four years. Both sides seem ready to use it after half of one.

Wonder if they can mutually agree to tear the deal up. I am friends with a few Islander fans and most seem to hate the idea of them playing in Brooklyn.
