Like Carrot cake, but most cake is just okay to me....  I'll take pretty much any pie over any cake.

Depends on who is cooking it.

Cake. Easily. Not a huge fan of pie crust since it's generally so dry. Making it a la mode certainly helps that, though.

Generally speaking, I agree with this. But again, if someone makes an exceptional pie and another is making a drier cake, it's obviously different.

Depends on if we're talking about "average" cake vs. pie or "best" cake vs. pie. Because great cake is better than the best pie, but just your average cake is far worse than it's pie equivalent.

I always have my mom make icebox cake for my birthday. Love it.

I like pie. It's like liquid cake.

I pass on both unless they're really, really good... which is harder to find than it used to be... some time in the 80's, a trend started that ruined desserts... which is that dessert makers began to emphasize how pretty they are... nowadays, desserts are typically way more good to look at then they used to be... but they don't taste like much of anything (just like tomatoes and apples)... with rare exception, the most gorgeous ones are why-did-I-bother blah, taste-wise....
