I'm all for gambling. Even online gambling. But when you have a game that 1 percent of players win 90 percent of the money, or whatever the figures are, then there is a problem. The crime is the people with the software who see everyone else's lineups and play 500 optimal lineups in a tournament based on who the other players don't pick.

I'm all for shutting it all down. Now if the site allows just one entry per game per account, then I would probably be on the side of the people not wanting the shutdown, and it's government sticking their head in where it doesn't need to be. And probably play myself.

But for people taking advantage of the system, which means taking advantage of other people (they aren't beating the house here like card counting in black jack) then screw em.

Yea, I have like $6 left over in my FanDuel account.  I'm gonna throw it all on a h2h in NBA until I lose it and that's it.

 

These things are clearly rigged.  If you keep playing them knowing what we know now, joke's on you.

We can all have differing opinions on whether or not gambling should be legal, I think it should be in all forms, but there is no sane argument that daily fantasy (or even season-long fantasy for money) is not gambling.

Its always gambling. Skill involved too. Same as in poker. However, I've always been down on this DFS stuff because of the advantage the people using multiple entries have over the normal Joe.

My guess is NY gets a piece of the gambling at the race tracks and the get none of this money, so they are pissed.

Yep. The government wants to get paid. They feel they should get a piece of everything. This is just another example.

So...this is an old thread. Much time has passed. I logged into my FanDuel account, which I think I started five years ago, but never really played because of all the shadiness that came out after. But it seems like it's been a long time since there has been any negative publicity. 

 

Anyone still do this? Baseball season coming up has piqued my interest.

 

I will say that I am glad to see the single entry tournaments because the multi entries are likely where sharks feast on noobs. Although I get there are ways around single entry (multiple usernames, etc...). Also that they denote who the experienced players are and have beginners only tournaments (Again, I'm sure creating a new account makes any expert a beginner who can feast there, but still). I think I like my odds of beating other people over the long haul more than beating Vegas.

 

So what is a profitable way to use it? I'm probably not interested in multi-entry large player pools because I don't have the computer skills to spit out 200 lineups in a day (Unless someone here does and want to collaborate!!). What about Head to heads, Single entry large player pools and treat it like the lotto? In H2H do you use the same lineup in each entry? Do you put in different lineups? Do you have to invest in one of those lineup optimizer sites for like $30 a month or is your own knowledge good enough?
