Was kinda hoping it came to Game Pass honestly. I know it's kinda cheap of me, but I really like being able to give it a stab to see if I like it. I'm such a snob.

You played any FromSoft games? Dark Souls games?

Not sure how good the game actually is (Elden Ring) since it’s basically fanbois doing the reviews.

Curious though: I like a good level of dialog in my open world gaming experience. Skyrim got boring once I’d finished all the storylines. Same with RDR and any of the GTAs.

From the videos I’ve seen on YT, this looks simply like a slasher. Do the NPCs behave differently to you based on how you play the game, or is this just an open world slashfest?

I’ll probably be picking up Ghost of Tsushima in the next day or so.

My take would be its another Souls like game with an open world and exploration element.

It’s incredible.

It looks it. I loved the stealth nature of Dishonored (1 more than 2), and playing as a thief / rogue in Skyrim is “my jam” as the kids would say.

Of course, I still don’t own a PS5, so I’ll have to pickup the PS4 version. Directors Cut, I guess?

You guys that have the new consoles, can you tell a noticable difference between 60 FPS and 30.

For sure. You see it in heavy action oriented sequences. But it isn’t everything it’s chalked up to be either. I’m going through Horizon on their 4K/30 FPS setting, and loving it.

I bought it today. I'm about 20 minutes through the opening sequence (paused it for the MD game).

This releases tomorrow, Mar 1st. I've never played the first one but some of the early release game plays I watched on YT... this is my next purchase for my Xbox series X  (got it last week!). Anybody play the original?

Dicey Dungeons is an incredibly fun and addicting roguelike on Game Pass and easy to play on phone/tablet via the cloud.

I challenge this notion.  Most of what I died from wasn't from difficultly, it was from janky programming and zero desire of the game to teach you mechanics or how the game works.  I don't get the From fanboys and their obsession with a game that actively doesn't want you to like it.  Bloodborne was a decent enough game, but man are there a lot of warts on From's product.

I am also loving Forbidden West, although I accidentally found out I'm on the second to last mission.  They've kinda only advanced the one plot thread, but there are 4 others I was hoping they'd wrap up.  I'm surprised I don't have that much left.  I enjoyed Zero Dawn way more, but this is still highly recommended and I'll replay it for sure (that's about the highest praise I can give a game).

There is a pretty noticeable difference for me between Madden, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Show ao far coming from an Xbox One to the series X. The loading times almost don't exist. My personal favorite is the remote play option the Series X offers you outside of your home. You can literally play your Xbox on a tablet, from anywhere with cell service. So far, in most places I've tried it, it's streamed almost seamless, with almost zero button lag.
