Good lord. 22 oz. Slurpee in 9 seconds! My brain hurts thinking about that.

Id probably go for the crab cakes record of 46 in 10 minutes. Might as well really enjoy it.

There are a lot of mind-boggling ones....  one that sticks out to me is 23 6inch cheesesteaks in 10 minutes. That's crazy.

Saw Joey Chestnut interviewed on ESPN today... says he puts on over 20lbs in the 10 minutes of the contest. That's crazy.

I mean, a bun is about an ounce, and a Nathan's hot dog is about two (50g). So that's three ounces x 60 hot dogs / 16 ounces in a pound. That's 10-11 lbs right there. Add in the liquid he drinks, and yeah, I can see it getting close to 20 lbs.

Definitely insane.

Not a direct MLE event...  but local...

The Washington Times: All hail the burger queen

The ninth annual Z-Burger Independence Burger Eating Championship

Competitors had 10 minutes to eat the burgers in front of them. After 10 minutes, they had to wait two minutes without throwing up to avoid disqualification.

Molly Schuyler of Plumas Lake, California, once again was named the champion, with 27 hamburgers under her belt. Ms. Schuyler, who traveled to the District specifically to compete, said she wanted to take a nap after the contest.
