MASN is pretty much low end on the budget scale of things, I suspect their technology might not support streaming without improving the equipment.
I think they are content with their cash cow, just the way it is.
I think investing in better equipment and then charging streaming rates for the customers would tend to pay for itself and then turn into a bigger profit, but thats just my own opinion.
MASN has always been behind the rest of the league. If I'm remembering correctly, they were the last RSN to offer HD programming. And they weren't just a little late to join that party. So It stands to reason that they would have been behind the other teams on streaming. But not this far behind. Streaming isn't new tech any longer.

The only thing that will get MASN to change is when they feel it in their pocketbook. Need more and more people to cut the cord and they will change.
In the meantime I'll happily pay $10/month for a VPN during the season and use my MLB.TV free subscription from being a season ticket holder.
It's so funny, I'd probably pay $20/month for a MASN streaming service during the season, and I bet a lot of other people would too, to avoid the VPN workaround, but they're too dense to realize that.

I think the O's are still in "discourage-cord-cutting-since-we-own-a-cable-network" mode, but it's just a matter of time before they have a reasonably priced streaming version of MASN.

I'm with you. $20/month is totally worth it. The thing that doesn't make sense, is how they seem to do business as if it's cable or streaming. They don't seem to understand that they can do both. Oh well, they're a dinosaur organization. Any advances they do make, happen at a glacial pace

I think I'm about to make the plunge and get Youtube TV.
We have a PS4 with one TV, but for the other two, do you guys think it matters much which device I get to stream it?

Nope. I have it on three TVs. One I use a 4k FireStick that is probably over a year old and the other two are Roku TVs so I just stream it on the app on the TVs.

Good deal. Thanks.

Yup. Lots of us have experience with streaming on here so give a shout if you have any questions.
Good luck.

Last week Hulu announced they’re raising their Hulu Live from $55 to $65 a month. Of course, nothing comes with it.
I think that puts it on par price wise with YTTV.
Yup. YouTube is $65 -- I pay $75 right now because I have to pay $10 extra for red zone during the NFL season. I'll be cancelling that portion of the package once January hits.

YouTube TV did the same increase several months ago, but they at least did it in conjunction with adding some channels, like NFLN. Still, with each passing month these streaming services are looking more and more like the cable/satellite bundles. When the 1-2 year commitments come into play, that's probably where I bail.

I don’t even use those services anymore. Just Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, HBO Max, Disney+, and ESPN+. Comes out to about $50 a month.

That would mostly work for me other than the live sports component.
