This is an aside, but I'm curious how a 1B hitting .269/.296/.385, a .681 OPS with 102 OPS+, is worth 0.6 bWAR after 16 games, a 6 WAR pace! Fangraphs seems a more reasonable 0.2. I guess small samples are wonky and he's on pace to be a +20 fielder or something.

The statcast numbers are declining, but he's still slightly above average in all the important stuff besides BB and whiff. Should be seeing more power than what we are seeing.

Well that really sucks.
1. Out so can't help the team.
2. Out so can't build any trade value in fact now he has very little to none until after the season.

He'll have to hit really well in late August or September after he returns or he's getting non-tendered. Trade value has zeroed out. Not sure what we could've gotten for him last off-season, I'd have guessed a mid-level RP or 4th OF type, but whatever it was it's nothing now.Well that really sucks.

He'll be back this year, they aren't gonna release him for no reason, but don't think he returns next season.

Too bad he got hurt before having his extended hot streaks... he hit for average in May, but no power.
He's definitely a guy that can carry a team for 10 days when he's scorching.
Unfortunately all we saw this year was one of his extended cold streaks (April .528 OPS), followed by a mediocre May.
